Paris is one of the world’s best locations for Instagram-worthy photos. Between the city’s world-famous landmarks and the delicious French cuisine, there’s no shortage of places to fill up your Instagram feed. Keep reading as I share with you some of the locations you can’t miss on your next trip. I’ll also throw in a few of my favorite off-the-beaten-path photo spots in Paris as a bonus!
1. Sacre Coeur
Located in the 18th arrondissement, the Sacre Coeur Basilica offers some of the best views over Paris. Make your followers envious of your trip here by taking incredible photos and videos of your view across the city. You’ll also be near the famous Montmartre area, so take full advantage of walking the quaint streets filled with local artists, and maybe grab a bite to eat at a local Parisian café.
2. Eiffel Tower
No trip to Paris would be complete without a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower. The great news is that you can make your Instagram feed stand out by testing out new angles and locations while capturing the Eiffel Tower behind you. The Trocadero is one of the best places to capture a unique Eiffel Tower photo but try and arrive here early in the day before it gets too busy.
3. Palais Royal
In the 1st arrondissement, you’ll find Palais Royal. This was previously the home of Cardinal Richelieu and Louis XIV, and you’ll find the outside to be a great spot for a photoshoot. The gardens and square are good Instagram-worthy spots, and we love the striped columns, which you can enjoy posing against.
4. The Rooftop of Galerie Lafayette
Galerie Lafayette is an incredible department store in Paris, but after you’ve enjoyed browsing all of the floors, head up to the rooftop. You’ll enjoy beautiful views over the city, and the Eiffel Tower will be in the background of any photo you take up here.
5. Notre Dame de Paris
Another iconic landmark in Paris is Notre Dame. The riverside here makes for some beautiful photos, and while work is still in progress to restore this landmark, you won’t want to miss taking a walk here on your next trip to Paris.
6. La Maison Rose
You’ve probably seen this pretty pink café on your Instagram feed when you were looking for inspiration for your upcoming Paris trip. It’s a great spot to combine with your visit to Sacre Coeur, as it’s also located in Montmartre.
7. Pink Mamma
If you are looking for a delicious dining spot, head to Pink Mamma in Montmartre. This restaurant is absolutely stunning, and you’ll want to try and make a reservation for the top floor. The food, restaurant, and views are all going to look incredible on your feed but make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.
8. Le Consulat
Located in Montmartre, you’ll find this beautiful historic café that dates back to the 19th century. It’s a pretty busy spot to eat at during the weekends, but you’ll love posing in front of this iconic building while exploring the local area. If you want great photos, go early in the morning at about sunrise.
9. The Seine River
We couldn’t leave the Seine River off our list of the top Instagram photo locations in Paris. There’s nothing better than heading down to the river to watch the sunset, with a bottle of wine and snacks to enjoy while admiring the beautiful view. There are plenty of different locations you can enjoy taking photos here, so stroll along the river until you find the perfect backdrop for your shoot.
10. Opera Garnier Paris
If you are looking to create dramatic Instagram photos while you are in Paris, head to the Opera Garnier Paris. It’s a great alternative to the Palace of Versailles but is much easier to access when you are staying in the city center.
Bonus: Off The Beaten Path Photo Spots in Paris
Are you looking for somewhere new to set your Instagram account apart from the millions of others online? These are five of my favorite off-the-beaten-path photo locations, which are often overlooked by tourists.
1. Rue du Chevalier de la Barre
Paris is full of beautiful streets everywhere you turn, but they are often packed with visitors trying to get the perfect photo. This street is slightly off the beaten track but contains the classic cobblestones that you’ll see throughout the city. Enjoy taking photos of the beautiful architecture and shops on this street without having to deal with too many people getting in your way.
2. Pigalle Basketball Court
Each year, the Pigalle basketball court is redecorated. While it is usually packed with locals enjoying a game of basketball, it is sometimes booked out for photoshoots. It offers a fun, colorful backdrop that will brighten up any Instagram feed.
3. Berthillon
If you are looking for a typical French restaurant or café that isn’t packed with tourists, we love the exterior of Berthillon. It’s the perfect backdrop for a classic Paris photo without having to fight the crowds for an empty background. Treat yourself after with a delicious ice cream from the store, which will make it well worth the effort of visiting here.
4. Villa Leandre
In Montmartre, you’ll find this beautiful street that’s so easy to miss when you are in a rush. The houses are all covered in ivy and will add some nature and greenery to your feed. It’s the perfect spot to put on a pretty, girly dress and capture some unique images of your Parisian adventure.
5. Galerie Vivienne
Mix things up on your Instagram feed by adding Galerie Vivienne to your list of must-visit places in Paris. This spot makes you feel like you’ve visited Italy for the day right in the middle of Paris, and you’ll appreciate the sunny location for taking a classic Paris Galerie photo.
As you can see, there are so many great spots to visit in Paris to capture photos for your Instagram feed and stories. You’ll have no shortage of photo-worthy locations in this city, and almost everywhere you turn, there’s something new to see. Make sure you don’t miss out on the off-the-beaten-path locations as well so that you can create some unique images that will make your Paris adventures stand out from others that are shared online.
